WRESTLING PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

1. All F.H.S.A.A. eligibility rules regulations shall be followed.

2. Provide wrestlers with the opportunity to join the U.S.A Wrestling Club Team.

a. Club team would afford practice time to develop skills.
b.
Club association would cover individual with insurance.
c.
Club association would allow individual to practice within F.H.S.A.A.  regulations.
d.
Increase involvement of pre-high school boys in club.

3. Provide wrestlers with opportunity to use weight room pre-, during and           post-season. Develop strength-training program specifically for improving wrestling skills.

4. Equipment will be inventoried pre-and post season.

a. Wrestlers will be financially responsible for lost or damaged equipment.
b.
Wrestling mat will be stored at school.
c.
Mats will be disinfected on a regular basis during the season.
d.
Mats will be cleaned, patched and wrapped (sealed) at the end of    season.
e.
Other equipment (uniforms, table clocks, etc.) will be stored in a secure place to prevent theft or loss.

5. The wrestling program shall make a sincere effort to be self-sustaining program.

a. Fundraiser will help to provide program needs.
b. All Lake Brantley High School bookkeeping regulations shall be followed.

6. Athletes and parents shall read and sign team contract regarding team policies, competition, practice and academics.

7. The coaching staff shall attend Fall F.H.S.A.A. clinic as well as other clinics or presentations that would improve their coaching skills and knowledge of the sport.

8. Each year the program will schedule a pre-season event in order to introduce the staff and program. Parent education and involvement will be the main objectives of this event.

9. Practice sessions will be scheduled each day after school beginning October 30th and ending prior to the state tournament. Athletes will be evaluated on the performance and worked with accordingly.

10. Maintain contact with college coaches and make them aware of the talents of the Lake Brantley wrestlers.

a. Assist wrestlers who wish to go on to college.

11.Make news media aware of the program and its athletes

a.  Call in meet results to newspaper after each home meet (away meets when necessary).
b. 
Prepare pre-and post-season new release when possible.
c. 
Establish and maintain contact with community businesses that may support program (Wrestlers of the week, Wrestler of the Meet) motivational awards.

12. Provide positive-working atmosphere with school staff.

13. Attend Booster Club Meetings in keeping with athletic requirements.

a.  Participate in Booster Club activities and fundraiser when possible.
b. 
Educate parents about the Booster club and encourage their participation in the club.

14. We will maintain our dressing area, locker room and practice area to schools standard of cleanliness.

15. Establish good communication system with middle and elementary schools regarding high school program.

16. Each year present a program at the middle and elementary schools introducing wrestling.

17. Continue to develop and implement unique and exciting ways to promote the wrestling program with the school and community.

18. Work to establish wrestling program as a positive and concerned organization.

a. Provide opportunities for those involved to work and socialize together.
b.
Look for opportunities for organization to put back something in the school and community.

19. Provide athletes with information and opportunities to attend summer camp.
